New Options are Necessary!
As we have made it to this point in the semester (and the Covid era), many parents are far beyond their limits when it comes to overseeing their childrens' educational journeys. I know so many who feel no one understands how to reach their special needs kid, so many who struggle to keep their child at one more online meeting, so many who have kids failing out and feeling isolated and depressed. The lack of community, lack of interpersonal communication, and lack of individualized education options is hitting hard at this point.
In the meantime, my 1st grader was just diagnosed ADHD and ODD, and I believe (as his teacher) he is dyslexic and has sensory processing issues. All of this to say, much pioneering is going on to meet needs in unique ways. Do not lose hope! I am happy to brainstorm with you all. That being said... SEE BELOW...
Here are a few ideas:
💁First, for my new FAVORITE thing for Pre-K thru 8th graders- Dailies Pods! A fun online class for my very distracted 6 year-old and he loves it! In Dailies pods the teacher has just a few kids for an hour, and they cover a ton of skills in that time while interacting with the teacher and the other kids; based around a topic that interests the kids. I love how they customize it for things like ADHD and dyslexia. Anyways, check out my referral link, first class is FREE- tell 'em I sent you!
I know it can bring some hope and life back into many educational situations these days!! Check out Dailies HERE and my referral code is vKke0Agh
💁Many tutors and teachers are available after hours or on weekends to provide 1-on-1 help to your child. The extra income is very helpful to many professionals these days. Why not ask in a local group or post an online request ad? College students may be more affordable but just as helpful. Check https://www.collegenanniesandtutors.com
💁Along that same line, there are several "middle man" type services that connect families to tutors such as -> https://www.applejax.com/
💁There are also several learning pod coordinator services that connect families with small groups who are meeting up to learn under a teacher. Look up these CA companies -> Bubbles by Swing Education or -> Scoot Education.
WE CAN DO THIS, Y'ALL!
👋Did I miss anything I should include? Did you like the Dailies Pods class? I welcome your comments and feedback.😍 #pandemiceducation #schoolathome #crisisschooling #podlearning #elearning #homeschool #distancelearning
